Stockport County is a club on the rise. Over the past 11 years, the club has finished higher each season, climbing from the National League North to League One.

With ambitious ownership and a forward-thinking board, the club is continuing to invest in its stadium, training facilities and academy to build strong foundations for the future.


Role Overview

We are looking for a proactive and motivated individual to join our Academy Physical Performance department on a voluntary placement for the 2025/26 season.


The successful candidate will be studying an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Sport and Exercise Science (or a related field) and will support the Academy Head of Performance and Lead Strength and Conditioning Coach.


Key Responsibilities

- Assist with on-pitch and gym-based physical development sessions across all academy phases

- Develop relationships with key departments across the academy

- Support day-to-day PDP tasks, including GPS and RPE monitoring

- Assist with the planning and delivery of physical testing

- Support anthropometric and growth & maturation monitoring

- Engage in continued professional development


Essential

- Currently completing an undergraduate/postgraduate degree in-Sport and Exercise Science (or relevant)

- Availability for evening sessions

- High level of self-motivation

- Strong organisational skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Willingness to learn and develop

Desirable

Based in the Stockport area (all applicants will be considered)
