Role Overview
This is an incredible role for a social media expert and football enthusiast. You'll be instrumental in shaping our digital presence, growing our social media following, and engaging our passionate fanbase. You'll also be tasked with developing innovative strategies and introducing new content verticals to attract and connect with new audiences – locally in Stockport, across the Northwest, and internationally.
A key part of the role will involve fostering strong relationships with our players and influential figures within and from Stockport, leveraging these connections to support the growth of both the club and the town.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive social media strategies to significantly grow our following and engagement across all key platforms, addressing both the core fanbase and acquisition of new audiences.
- Manage day-to-day social media operations, including content planning, scheduling around the football & cultural calendar, and proactive community management.
- Identify and implement new content verticals and formats, staying ahead of social media trends and emerging platforms relevant to football.
- Lead creative ideation to originate innovative, social-first content franchises increases engagement with our fanbase and authentically reflects the club and town.
- Maintain high-quality output across all social platforms. Act as the content quality gatekeeper and tone-of-voice guardian for Stockport County.
- Build and nurture relationships with players, club staff and key influencers within the Stockport community to create authentic and engaging content, enable us to expand our reach and appeal within the UK and beyond.
- Leverage our data and analytics team to monitor social media performance, analyse data, and provide regular reports with actionable insights specific to fan engagement and commercial impact.
- Collaborate closely with other departments to support broader club objectives, with a focus on driving traffic that converts into revenue across the launch of priority commercial products (i.e. kit launches, season tickets, membership).
- Respond swiftly and strategically to dynamic club moments such as player signings, on-pitch moments, and emerging sponsor needs, maximizing their impact across social channels.

Working Pattern
This role requires a flexible working pattern. You will be responsible for posting around the rhythm of the football club, which includes working matchdays, covering training sessions, tours, and community events.
